Understanding Your Sky Bill
Your monthly Sky bill includes charges for all the services you subscribe to. It is broken down into sections:
- Sky TV — your TV subscription package (Entertainment, Sports, Cinema etc.)
- Sky Broadband — your internet service charges
- Sky Talk — landline rental and any call charges
- Sky Mobile — billed separately but viewable in My Sky
- Additional charges — pay-per-view events, on-demand rentals, premium calls
- Discounts and credits — any promotional discounts or account credits applied

Sky Price Increases
Sky typically increases prices once a year, usually in April. Here is what you need to know:
- Sky must give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase
- The increase applies to your TV, broadband and talk services
- If the increase is above a certain threshold, you may have the right to cancel without penalty
- Sky Mobile prices do not increase during your contract
If you are unhappy with a price increase, call Sky to discuss your options — they may offer you a new deal or discount to stay.
Payment Methods
- Direct debit — the standard payment method, taken automatically each month
- Debit or credit card — one-off payments through My Sky or by phone
- Bank transfer — available for manual payments
Common Billing Issues
- Unexpected charges — check for pay-per-view, on-demand rentals or premium rate calls on your bill
- Failed direct debit — ensure your bank details are correct and there are sufficient funds
- Promotional discount ended — introductory discounts typically last 12 or 18 months, after which you revert to the full price
- Double payment — if you have been charged twice, contact Sky for an immediate refund
- Charges after cancellation — if you are still being billed after cancelling, call Sky to resolve
Requesting a Refund
You may be entitled to a refund from Sky if:
- You were overcharged or double-charged
- You experienced a significant service outage
- You were charged for services after cancelling
- A promotional price was not applied correctly
Call Sky's billing team on 0844 448 1671 to request a refund. Refunds usually take 5-10 working days to reach your bank account.
