There is a wonderful sense of excitement in the air as we announce the latest cohort of the Sky Sports Scholarship Winners! While natural talent is certainly the seed of stardom, we know that true success is built on a foundation of dedication and, crucially, a robust support network. Today marks a fantastic step forward for twelve incredible young athletes who have been awarded a three-year scholarship to help them reach their full potential.
These talented individuals represent the very best of British sport across a diverse range of disciplines, including boxing, cycling, athletics, swimming, and speed-skating. The selected scholars are Jack Bateson, Holly Bleasdale, Olivia Breen, Elise Christie, Lucy Garner, Quillan Isidore, Jessica Judd, Savannah Marshall, Siobhan O'Connor, Sam Oldham, Louis Persent, and Jason Quigley. Each of them is pursuing their dream of standing on the world stage and winning medals for their country.
Many of these promising athletes currently train six times a week, demonstrating immense commitment to their craft. We understand that the journey to elite status involves managing various costs, from travel to coaching fees. That is why Sky is so proud to be part of their support network. This scholarship scheme is designed to provide the essential guidance, training resources, and nutritional advice needed to turn potential into podium finishes. By offering this three-year support, we are helping to ensure that financial hurdles do not stand in the way of their sporting dreams.
