For those who prefer to relax with a film, Sky customers have enthusiastically embraced Sky Go to enjoy Sky Movies on demand across laptops, smartphones, mobile tablets, and games consoles. The figures reveal that the hilarious Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Teacher was the most popular on-demand movie of the year. It was closely followed by the action-packed films Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Captain America: The First Avenger.
British talent also shone brightly, with home-grown UK shows appearing throughout the top ten most popular box sets. Viewers enjoyed all three series of An Idiot Abroad, the entertaining panel show A League of their Own, and the action drama Strike Back: Vengeance. Meanwhile, Sky Atlantic's Game of Thrones took the top spot as the most streamed entertainment series of the year.
Even more exciting news is that this week marks a major step forward with the launch of Sky Go Extra. This brand new service is the first mobile TV subscription in the UK and Ireland to offer Hollywood movies for download to watch offline. Launching today, it allows customers to download the latest blockbuster films from Sky Movies and shows from channels such as Sky 1, ensuring entertainment is always within reach.
