Exciting New Chapter for Rugby League Fans

There is wonderful news for sports lovers across the UK as Sky Sports and the Rugby Football League (RFL) have joined forces to launch a fantastic new initiative called SKY TRY. This exciting seven-year partnership is designed to welcome an extra 100,000 people into the rugby league family every single year. The goal is to boost the number of viewers, spectators, and active participants, ensuring the sport continues to grow and thrive for generations to come.

Bringing Rugby to Schools and Communities

A cornerstone of this positive development is the Sky Grass Roots programme, which aims to make rugby league more accessible to primary and secondary school students. Young people will benefit from a six-week coaching programme specifically targeting 8-9 year olds, culminating in a fun festival linked to a game day experience that invites local community clubs. Furthermore, secondary schools will enjoy increased opportunities to play, supported by helpful workshops for teachers and community coaches to ensure the sport's long-term sustainability.

There is also a special focus on inclusivity with the 'Play Touch' project. This six-week touch workout initiative is designed to increase participation among Key Stage 3 and 4 girls, encouraging more young women to get involved in the sport they love.

More Live Action Than Ever Before

Fans can look forward to an incredible season of coverage. Sky Sports will be broadcasting more games than ever before, with over 100 live fixtures scheduled. This includes the spectacular First Utility Super League's Magic Weekend and the Grand Final. Viewers will also see all six games from the Summer Bash, along with selected fixtures from the Kingstone Press Championship, action from the Challenge Cup, and the thrilling new World Club Series featuring top teams from the Super League and Australia's NRL.

This initiative represents a significant investment in the future of rugby league, promising a lasting and positive impact on the community.
