A Record-Breaking Year for Sports Fans

What a fantastic start to the new year! Sky Sports is celebrating its biggest year ever, offering viewers an incredible amount of sporting action. In 2014, fans enjoyed nearly 11,000 hours of football, contributing to a record-breaking total of over 59,000 hours of sport scheduled across seven channels. This is more coverage than ever before, ensuring there is always something exciting to watch.

More Football, More Action

The love for football has never been stronger, with Sky Sports offering 29% more football in 2014 compared to 2013. This expansion includes the games that matter most from the Barclays Premier League, UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers, and for the first time, Holland's Eredivisie. To support this growth, a brand new channel, Sky Sports 5, was launched in August. It is set to show up to 600 live European football matches this season, alongside the refreshed Sky Sports News HQ.

Highlights of this memorable year include Europe's historic Ryder Cup victory, every single race of Lewis Hamilton's second Formula 1® world championship, and Manchester City's dramatic Premier League title win. The commitment to diversity in sport is also shining bright, with women's sport scheduled on over 260 days. This represents a wonderful 30% increase on 2013, featuring England women's rugby union World Cup win and England's Ashes victory Down Under.

Looking Ahead to 2015

There is so much to look forward to in the coming year! Viewers can anticipate every ball from the ICC Cricket World Cup, The Ashes, and more Premier League action. Additionally, Lewis Hamilton will be defending his Formula 1® title, and the expert line-up is growing with the addition of Thierry Henry. Digital services are also evolving, offering more content and functionality for users to enjoy their favourite sports in new ways.

With such a vast array of choices available, it is the perfect time to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the action. If you have any questions about accessing these fantastic sports channels or need help with your service, our friendly team is here to assist you. Simply call us on 0844 448 1671.
